Privacy

This site collects as little as possible: an email address, and only if you ask for the newsletter. What follows says exactly what happens to it.

Who is responsible

Paula Elion is responsible for the personal data described here — the data controller, in the language of the GDPR.

Roslagsgatan 21, 113 55 Stockholm, Sweden. Questions about anything on this page can go to paula@paulaelion.com.

The newsletter

Signing up to Studio Note stores one thing: your email address. It is used to send you the letter, and for nothing else. It is never sold, rented, or shared.

The legal basis is your consent, given when you enter your address and confirm it by clicking the link in the confirmation email. That confirmation is recorded, so there is a record of when consent was given.

The list is held by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), an email service based in the United States, which stores and sends on Paula's behalf. Your address stays there until you unsubscribe, which you can do from the link at the bottom of every email. Unsubscribing removes you from the list.

If you write

Email sent to the studio is kept as ordinary correspondence, so that enquiries about work, exhibitions, or studio sessions can be answered and followed up. It is not added to the newsletter list unless you sign up separately.

This website

There is no analytics on this site. No Google Analytics, no visitor tracking, no advertising, no pixels, and no cookies set for any of those purposes. Nothing follows you between pages, and no profile is built from your visit.

Services the site uses

A handful of external services are needed to serve the site, and each of them sees your IP address when the relevant page loads — the ordinary consequence of loading anything over the internet.

Vercel hosts the site and keeps short-lived server logs. Google Fonts serves the typefaces. The signup form is Kit. The Digital — Paintings in Motion page embeds video from YouTube, which sets its own cookies when a video plays. The Studio Experience page embeds Calendly for booking a session.

Links out to Instagram and Fine Art America are ordinary links, not embeds: those sites only receive anything if you click through.

Your rights

You can ask what is held about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, receive a copy of it, or withdraw consent at any time. Email paula@paulaelion.com and it will be dealt with.

If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the Swedish authority for privacy protection, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (imy.se).
